Description
Index file was created by DRCOG in 2017, as the contour data was broken down into smaller more manageable chunks. Contours derived from Lidar data collected as part of the response to the 2013 Colorado Flood. The controur data is at a 1-foot interval and was machine-generated for 3,600 square miles. Contour lines have been smoothed and were developed to be non-crossing, solid, and unbroken features. Contour lines are attributed with elevation values. Data was not validated by USGS, as were the other deliverables collected as part of this conrtact. ```History of the project: USGS Contract: G10PC00026 Task Order Number: G14PD00001; CO_Flood_2014: The Colorado Flood Lidar project called for the planning, acquisition, processing and derivative products of LIDAR data to be collected at a nominal pulse spacing (NPS) of 0.7 meter (QL 2). Project specifications were based on the U.S. Geological Survey National Geospatial Program Base LIDAR Specification, Version 1. The data was developed based on a horizontal projection/datum of UTM Zone 13 North, NAD83, meters and vertical datum of NAVD1988 (GEOID12A), meters. LiDAR data was delivered in RAW flight line swath format, processed to create Classified LAS 1.2 Files formatted to individual 1500m x 1500m tiles, and corresponding 0.75 meter gridded Hydro Flattened Raster DEM Files tiled to the same 1500m x 1500m schema, tiled Intensity Images, and Hydro-Flattening Breaklines in ESRI Shapefile format. Contours were developed from the UTM 13 dataset on a State Plane Coordinate System. Ground Conditions: LiDAR was collected in Fall 2013, while no snow was on the ground and rivers were at or below normal levels. To post-process the Lidar data to meet task order specifications, Photo Science established a total of 229 control points that were used to calibrate the LIDAR to known ground locations established throughout the Colorado Flood project area.
Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) provides data in multiple formats to support a wide range of applications, including Shapefile, GeoJSON, WMS, and KML. Shapefile and KML formats are available as downloadable files. GeoJSON and WMS are provided as URL services. Please note that spatial reference information for GeoJSON and WMS services may need to be adjusted before use in web mapping applications. For questions or assistance accessing or using the data, please email geospatial@drcog.org.
